1. Service overview

Arkan PDF Editor provides tools for reading, annotating, and organizing PDF files. We offer both free and paid plans that can be accessed through our website or desktop applications.

2. Accounts

To use certain features, you need an account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information.
• Keep your password confidential.
• Take responsibility for any activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or cause harm to other users.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are processed through Stripe. Prices and features are shown at checkout and may change with notice.

Free trial: If offered, your trial converts to a paid plan unless canceled before the trial ends.

Cancellations: You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

Refunds: We generally do not issue refunds after payment, except where required by law.

4. Use of the service

You may use Arkan only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer or modify the app's code.
• Interfere with servers or security features.
• Share your license or subscription unlawfully.
• Upload or distribute illegal or harmful material through the app.

5. File handling and storage

Arkan runs locally. Your PDF files and annotations stay on your device unless you explicitly share or upload them. We do not store or access your documents.

Crash logs and anonymized analytics may be collected to improve performance (see Privacy Policy).

6. Intellectual property

Arkan and all related logos, designs, and software are owned by us. You may not copy, resell, or distribute them without permission.

You retain full rights to any PDF documents or annotations you create.

7. Disclaimer of warranty

Arkan is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that the software will be error-free. You use it at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arkan and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service.

If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for your last subscription period.

9. Modifications

We may update or change these Terms to reflect new features, legal requirements, or improvements. The latest version will always appear at arkanpdf.com/terms.

Significant changes will be communicated by email or in-app.

10. Termination

You can stop using Arkan at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Breach these Terms,
• Misuse the service, or
• Cause harm to other users or our systems.

Upon termination, your access ends immediately, but your local files remain yours.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Copenhagen, Denmark.
